The Masterclass on the Future of Home and Community Care is a specially curated programme developed by Ageing Asia and based on the Swedish-Japanese approach to enabling community ageing-in-place. Flying in from Japan with over 10 years experience in implementing a unique Swedish care model but localised for the Japanese community, is Mr Gustav Strandell, CEO, Maihama Club Nursing Homes, Chairman, Urayasu City Care Provider’s Association, Japan. He is regularly interviewed by the media - Asahi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan Times and Nikkei Business FujiTV and NHK Japan.
Designed for retirement living, aged care industry and special education practitioners in Asia- Pacific, this two-part programme will enable the management and operations team to learn about the Swedish-Japanese holistic life care approach towards improving quality of life for elders who are frail, have Dementia or going through end-of-life care.
The aim of the masterclass programme is to provide practical insights and inspirations on programmes, rehabilitation and services for a future baby boomer driven world where the rising middle income will be more willing to explore self-pay solutions to access services that enable ageing-in-place. As global care models evolve, operators will need to rethink their approach and value propositions.
